West Teke is a collection of closely-related Bantu dialects or languages spoken by about 120,000 people in south and central parts of the Republic of Congo, and in the southeast of Gabon. Speakers of West Teke can be found particularly in the Niari, Lékoumou, Bouenza, Pool, Plateaux, Cuvette-Ouest, Cuvette and Brazzaville in Republic of the Congo, and in the provinces of Haut-Ogooué in Gabon.
West Teke is also known as Teke-Tsaayi, Tsaya or Tsaayi. Varieties of include Tsaayi, Laali, Yaa and Tyee. Tsaayi is the most widely-spoken. It is written with the Latin alphabet.
