Bila (kiBila)

Bila is a Bantu language spoken by about 40,000 people in the Mambasa Territory in Ituri Province in the northeast of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. In particular, it is spoken in and around the towns of Mambasa, Lolwa and Komanda.

Bila is also known as Forest Bira, West-Bila or kiBila. Dialects include Kango, Sua, Bombi-Ngbanja, Nyaku and Ibutu. There is a way to write Bila with the Latin alphabet, however there is very little written material in the language.
