Kuhane (Chikuhane / Chisubia)

Kuhane is a Bantu language spoken mainly in northeastern Namibia, and also in Botswana and Zambia. There are about 34,000 speakers of Kuhane in Namibia, 7,900 in Botswana and 2,900 in Zambia. Most speakers of Kuhane can be found in the Zambezi Region in the northeast of Namibia. They are also found in the Chobe Region in the northeast of Botswana, and in the south of the Western Province of Zambia.

Kuhane is also known as Ikuhane, Subia or Subiya, and speakers of the language call it Chikuhane or Chisubia, and themselves Baikuhane and Basubia.

Kuhane is written with the Latin alphabet, and there is a translation of the New Testament of the Bible in Kuhane.
