Shi

Shi is a Northeast Bantu language spoken by about 1 million Bashi people in the Bushi region mainly in South Kivu Province in the east of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. In particular, it is spoken in the territories of Walungu, Kabare Idjwi, Kalehe and Mwenga, and in the city of Bukavu.

Shi is also known as Kishi, Amashi or Nyabungu, and the people who speak it call their language Mashi amd themselves Bashi. Dialect of Shi include Kihavu, Kifuliiru and Kinyindu. It is written with the Latin alphabet.
