Mbuun is a western Bantu language spoken by about 165,000 people in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). In particular, it is spoken in Idiofa, a town in the east of Kwilu Province (formerly part of Bandundu Province) in the west of the DRC.
Mbuun is also known as Mpuun, Mboon, Embun, Imbuun, Kumbuun or Gumbunda. It was first documented and written in the 1930s, and parts of the Bible have been translated into Mbuun.
