Kwasio

Kwasio is a Bantu language spoken by about 70,000 people in along the coast of south western Cameroon and north western Equatorial Guinea by the Kwasio, Ngumba, Mabi and Gyele peoples. In Cameroon, it is spoken particularly in the towns of Kribi and Lolodorf in the Océan Department in the southwest of the South Province, and in Equatorial Guinea it is spoken mainly around Bata and south of Rio Benito in the north of the Litoral Province.

Kwasio is also known as Ngumba, Ngoumba, Mabi, Mabea, Mgoumba, Mvumbo, Bisio, Bujeba, Gyele or Kola, which also the names of dialects of Kwasio. The Bujeba, Gyele and Kola dialects are classified as separate languages by some linguists.
