Angaataha is member of the Angan group of Trans-New Guinea languages. It is spoken by about 2,500 people in the Menyanya District in the east of Morobe Province, particularly in the villages of Otete, Benula, Waaparɨhɨra, Atapahora and Manki.
Angaataha is also known as Angaatiha, Angaatiya, or Langimar. It can be written with the Latin alphabet, and there is an Angaataha translation of the Bible.
