Ngwe is a member of the Bamileke branch of the Eastern Grasslands group of the Southern Bantoid languages. It is spoken by about 73,000 people mainly in the Labialem Department in the Southwest Region of Cameroon.
Ngwe is also known as Nweh, Nwe, Bamileke-Ngwe, Fontem or Fomopea. It is closely related to Yemba and Ngiemboon. It is written with the Latin alphabet.
