Ngiemboon (Ngiembɔɔn)

Ngiemboon is a member of the Bamileke branch of the Eastern Grasslands group of the Southern Bantoid languages. It is spoken by about 250,000 people mainly in the department of Bamboutos in the West Region of Cameroon. In particular, it is spoken in the Bangang, Batcham, Balatchi and Bamougong Groupements.

Ngiemboon is also known as Ngiemboon-Bamileke. Dialects of Ngiemboon include Batcham, Balatchi and Bamoungong. It is written with the Latin script using a spelling system based on the General Alphabet of Cameroon Languages, which was created in the late 1970s.
