Kwaʼ is a member of the Bamileke group of Eastern Grassfields languages. It is spoken by about 1,000 people in the southwest of Cameroon, particularly in the Nkondjock subdivision in the north of the Nkam Department in the Littoral Region, and also in the Ndé Department in the West Region.
Kwaʼ is also known as Babwa, Bakoa, Bakoua, Bakwa, Bamileke-Kwa or Bekwa'. Dialects include Bekwa', Bakoua, Babwa, Mipa and Mbyam. It is written with the Latin alphabet.
