These scripts were invented by J. R. R. Tolkien and appear in his novels The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings and The Silmarillion. Tolkien's Tengwar script was originally designed to write the Elvish languages Quenya and Sindarin, but has been adapted to write quite a few other languages.
