How are you?	ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਕੀ ਹਾਲ ਹੈ? / تُہاڈا کی حال ہے؟ (tuhāḍā kī hāl he?)
Reply to 'How are you?'	ਠੀਕ ਹਾਂ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕਿੱਧਾਂ? / ٹھیک ہاں۔ تُسیں کِداں؟ (ṭīk hā̃. tusī̃ kíddā̃?)
Long time no see	ਬੜੀ ਦੇਰ ਤੋਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਏ ! / بڑی دیر توں تُسیں نظر نہیں آئے! (baṛī der ton tusī̃ naśar nahī̃ āe!)
What's your name?	ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਨਾਂ ਕੀ ਹੈ? / تہاڈا کیہ ناں ہے؟ (tuhāḍā nā̃ kī he?)
My name is ...	ਮੇਰਾ ਨਾਂ ... ਹੈ। میرا ناں ۔۔۔۔ ہے (mērā nā̃ ... he)
Where are you from?	ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕੀੱਥੋਂ ਹੋ? / تُسیں کتھے دے ہو؟ (tusing kiṭhong ho?)
I'm from ...	ਮੈਂ ... ਤੋਂ ਹਾਂ / میں ۔۔۔ توں ہاں۔ (maing ... tong hāng)
Pleased to meet you (not often used in Punjabi)	ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਹੋਈ / نہانوں مل کے بہت خوشی ہوئی (tuhānū̃ mil kē bāhut khushī hōī)
Good night	ਸ਼ੁੱਭ ਰਾਤਰੀ (shubh rātri)
Goodbye (Parting phrases)	ਰੱਬ ਰਾਖਾ / ربّ راکھا (rabb rākhā = "may God protect you") ਸਤਿ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਅਕਾਲ ਫਿਰ ਮਿਲਾਂਗੇ ست سری آکال فیر مِلاں گے (sati sri akālfir milange)
Good luck!	ਭਾਗ ਚੰਗੇ ਹੋਣ / بھاگ چنگے ہون (bhag chngae hoon)

Bon voyage / Have a good journey	ਸੁਖੀ ਜਾ / سکھی جا (sukhi ja)
Do you understand?	ਕੀਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸਮੱਝ ਲੱਗਿਆ? / کیہ تہانوں سمجھ لگیا؟ (kituhanoon samijh lagia?)
I understand	ਮੈਂ ਸਮਝਿਆ / میں سمجھیاں (main samijhia)
I don't understand	ਮੈਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਮਝਿਆ। / میں نہیں سمجھیا (mẽ nahī̃ samájiā)
Please speak more slowly	ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰਕੇ ਹੌਲੀ ਬੋਲੋ ਜੀ। / تُسیں مہربانی کر کے ہولی بولی جی (tusī̃ kirpā karkē hɔlī bōlō jī)
Please say that again	ਦੁਬਾਰਾ ਕਹੋ ਜੀ? / دوبارہ کہو جی؟ (dubārā kahō jī?)
Please write it down	ਲਿੱਖ ਲਓ ਜੀ। / لِکھ لوؤ جی۔ (likkh laō jī)
Do you speak English?	ਤੁਸੀਂ ਅੰਗਰੇਜੀ ਬੋਲਦੇ ਹੋ? / تُسیں انگریزی بولدے ہو؟ (tusī̃ angrējī bōldē hō?)
Do you speak Punjabi?	ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਆਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ? / تُہانوں پنجابی آؤندی ہے؟ (tuhānū̃ panjābī āundī he?)

This lady will pay for everything	ਇਹ ਬੀਬੀ ਸਰਿਯਾਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੈਸੇ ਦੇਵੇ ਗੀ ایہہ بی بی ساریاں چیزاں دے پیسے دیئے گی (ih bībī sāhibā̃ sariyā̃ cīzā̃ de paise deñe gī)
Would you like to dance with me?	ਕੀ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਨਚਣਾ ਪਸੰਦ ਕਰੋ ਗੇ / کیہ تُسیں میرے نال نچنا پسند کرو گے؟ (kī tusī mere nāl nacaṇā pasãd karo ge)
I love you	ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ। / میں تینوں پیار کردا ہاں (mẽ tenū̃ piār kardā hā̃)
Get well soon	ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਛੇਤੀ ਅਰਾਮ ਆਵੇ। / تہانوں چھیتی آرام آوے (tuhānū̃ shētī arām āvē)
Bless you! (Said when sb sneezes)	ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ! (waheguru) - Glorious Lord! ਤੇਰਾ ਭਲਾ ਹੋਵੇ! (tōrā bhalā hōvē) May you be blessed! ਧਨਵਾਦ (tànvād) Thank you - reply
Go away!	ਪਰੇ ਹੋਜਾ! / پرے ہو جا (parē hōjā!)
Leave me alone!	ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇਕੱਲਾ ਰੈਣ ਦੇ! / مینوں اِکلا رہن دے! (menū̃ ikallā reñ dē!)
Help!	ਮੱਦਦ! / مدد! (madad!) (bachao!) روکو!
Fire!	ਅੱਗ! / اَگ! (ag!)
Stop!	ਰੁਕੋ! (ruko!)
Call the police!	ਪੁਲਸਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬੁਲਾ‌! / پولیس نُوں بُلاؤ (pulsā̃ nū̃ bulā!)
Christmas greetings	ਮੈਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸਮਸ। / میری کرِسمس (merī krismas)
New Year greetings	ਨਵਾਂ ਸਾਲ/ਵਰਾ ਮੁਬਾਰਕ। / نواں سال، ورہا مبارک (navā̃ sāl/varā mubārak)
Easter greetings	not used
Birthday greetings	ਜਨਮ ਦਿਨ ਮੁਬਾਰਕ। / جنم دِن مبارک (janam din mubārak)
Congratulations!	ਮੁਬਾਰਕਾਂ! (Mubārakāṁ!)
One language is never enough	ਇੱਕ ਹੀ ਭਸ਼ਾ ਜਾਣ ਕੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਰਦਾ। / ک ہی بھاشا جان کے نہیں سردا۔ (ikk hī pàshā jaɳ kē nahī̃ sardā)
My hovercraft is full of eels	ਮੇਰਾ ਹਵਰਕ੍ਰਾਫ਼ਤ ਨਾਂਗਾਂ ਨਾਲ਼ ਭਰਿਆ ਪਿਆ। / میرا ہرکرفٹ نگاں ناں بھریا پیا (mērā havarkrāft nāngā̃ nāɭ pàriā piā)
