Maybrat is a language isolate spoken by about 25,000 people in on the Bird's Head Peninsula in Southwest Papua Province in eastern Indonesia. In particular, it is spoken in the Tambrauw and Mayrat regencies in central parts of the Bird's Head Peninsula around the Ayamaru Lakes. There are also speakers of Maybrat in urban areas of West Papua.
Maybrat is also known as Mai Brat, Maybrat-Karon or Ayamaru. Dialects include Mayhapeh, Maymaru, Mayasmaun, Maymare, Mayte and Karon Dori (Miyah). Karon Dori differs significantly from the other dialects and is considered a separate language by some people.
