Likpe (Sεkpεlé)

Likpe is a member of the Kwa branch of the Atlantic-Congo language family. It has about 23,000 speakers mainly in southern Ghana, particularly in the Hoehoe Distict in the north of the Volta Region.

Likpe is also known as Sekpele, Sεkpεle, Sekwe, Bosele or Mu, and Likpe speakers call their language Sεkpεlé or Sεkua, and themselves Bakpεle or Bakua.

A way to write Likpe with the Latin script was developed by the Ghana Institute of Linguistics, Literacy and Bible Translation (GILLBT) for a Likpe translation of the Bible.
