Nyepu (Kútúk nà ŋyɛ́pʊ̀)

Nyepu is a member of the Bari group of Eastern Nilotic languages. It is spoken by about 3,000 Nyepu people in Central Equatoria State in the south of South Sudan.

Nyepu is also known as Ngyepu or Kútúk nà ŋyɛ́pʊ̀ ('Nyepu language'). It is closely related to Bari and Kakwa, and is generally classified as a dialect of Bari. It can be written with the Latin alphabet.

Notes

Nyepu has a vowel harmony system in which words contain either the vowels e, i, o, ö and u, or a, ɛ, ɪ, ɔ and ʊ.
