Ilo Reverse Abugida

The Ilo Reverse Abugida is an alternative writing system for Hawaiian invented by TheDankBoi69 in May 2025. It is a "vowel-centered abugida", that is, the main letter forms represent vowels and diphthongs, while diacritics are applied to indicate consonants.

Notable features

A zig-zag indicates vowel length.
The letterforms and diacritics are actually inspired from the Thaana abugida for the Maldivian language. In fact, most of the letters are just mirrored versions of Thaana consonants reassigned into Hawaiian vowels and diphthongs.
It's quasi-featural, that is, they have been selected because of their shape, for example, the AE and AU look like an A's attached to E and U, the AI looks like an I written so that it resembles an A, the OI looks like an exaggerated O and as long as an I, an the OU looks like it's an O attached to a U on the left side, the EI looks like a reversed E, the EU looks like the bottom half of an E (the bottom half of the EU in turn looking like an U), the IU looks like and I with a swash that looks like the top part of an U, etc.
The letters are slanted to the opposite side (because TheDankBoi69 is left-handed). However, they can be unslanted.

Transliteration
