  1. I’d say that the Welsh word telynegion (with its clear connection to telyn = “harp”) is really only “lyrics” in the sense of “lyric poems”. The “lyrics” of a song are normally referred to in Welsh, as in Breton (and French for that matter), as simply the “words”: y geiriau.
