Yes, ”madina” indeed sounds like an Arabic loanword. Generally speaking, the vowel system sounds like having a quantity distinction. According to Simon’s clue this language is spoken in the Philippines. Arabic/Islamic influence is stronger in the south there, so Tausug is a possibility.
It sounds to me again to be either something from the Philippines or Polynesia.

The mystery language is Malaweg, a Northern Luzon language spoken in Luzon in the Philippines.
