Rengao is a member of the North Bahnaric branch of the Austroasiatic language family. It is spoken by about 18,000 people mainly in Kon Tum city and the Dak Ha and Dak To districts in the south of Quảng Ngãi Province in south central Vietnam.
Rengao is also known as Rơngao or Rơ Ngao. It can be written with the Latin alphabet using a spelling system based on Vietnamese.
