Oluta Popoluca (Yaak'awü)

Oluta Popoluca is a member of the Mixe branch of the Mixe-Zoque language family. It is spoken in Oluta, a municipality in southern Veracruz in the southeast of Mexico. According to the 2020 census, 77 people speak Oluta Popoluca, however a study published in 2018 found only one speaker.

Oluta Popoluca is also known Oluta, Oluta Mijean, Olutec or Popoluca de Oluta.

Notes

Long vowels are indicated either with a double letter (aa) or with a an underline (a).
When a [k] sound comes before i or e, it is written qu. Elsewhere it is written c.
When a [ɡ] sound comes before i or e, it is written gu. Elsewhere it is written g.
