Mungbam (Mùŋgbàm)

Mungbam is a member of the Southern Bantoid branch of the Benue-Congo language family. It is spoken by about 2,000 people in the Northwest Region of Cameroon. In particular, it is spoken in the villages of Abar, Munken, Ngun, and Biya in the Wum commune in the south of the Menchum department in the northwest of the Northwest Region.

Mungbam is also known as Abar. It is written with the Latin alphabet. Each village where the language is spoken has their own dialect, and the name Mungbam combines their names. Mungbam is closely related to Missong, which is spoken in the same area, and is sometimes considered a dialect of Mungbam.
