Duun (Duungooma / Dzùùngoo)

Duun is a Western Mande language with about 150,000 speakers in southern Mali and western Burkina Faso. In Mali it is spoken particularly in the Sikasso and Kadiolo cercles the southeast of the Sikasso Region near the border with Burkina Faso.

There are three varieties of Duun: West Duun (Duungooma), which is also known as Du or Samogho-sien and is spoken in Mali; Banka (Bankagooma), which is also spoken in Mali, and East Duun (Dzùùngoo), which is spoken in Burkina Faso. They are distinct, however there is a fairly high degree of mutual intelligibility between them. Duun is written with the Latin script.

Translation

It is often said that language is the vehicle of culture. This being an indisputable reality, any initiative to safeguard and promote the language necessarily has a positive impact on culture. So how could one create a website called duunve without opening a page for writing and reading Duungooma? What would be the point of the site if those thirsty for Duungooma would not see materials on Duungooma, which would allow them to self-train remotely?
