Neo Alfabet Neo Alfabet

The Neo Alfabet was created by François Toulot to serve as a fully phonetic writing system, functioning both as an extension of various national scripts and as a complement to the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA). It includes a complete set of uppercase and lowercase characters representing nearly all phonetic sounds. The design goal is to make each character easily distinguishable, and not merely a modified form or a diacritic variant of an existing letter.

The alphabet draws primarily from Latin, IPA and Greek characters for the most common sounds, while also incorporating elements from Cyrillic and other writing systems. For rare or unique sounds, it introduces original character designs. Additionally, the Neo Alfabet includes diacritics and tone markers to accommodate languages that require them.

The names of the letters are inspired by naming traditions from the Latin alphabet and its extensions, as well as from Greek, Coptic, Cyrillic, Arabic, Hebrew, Gothic, and Ogham scripts.
