Why do you invent con-scripts? For fun, as a challenge, for use in a book or computer game, as decoration, for secret communication, or ...?

I'm gonna say E) All of the above.

I like to create scripts just for fun, but the challenge is what keeps me coming back.

Usually my conscripts (none of which are fully developed) come from random scribblings I make while not paying attention to something I'm supposed to be listening to . I don't really use them for any specific purpose.

haha Jayan that sounds like me I usually get most my scripts in class, when I'm supposed to be paying attention Oh well, at least I'm doing something productive! xD

For me, it's mainly for secret communication. It's a very effective method actually, if you make the script complicated enough so that no one would want to learn it even if given the opportunity.

My con-script evolved out of my own handwriting that I just decided to make crazy one day. I figured that if I made my handwriting fun to write then I'd enjoy taking notes in class a lot more.
Now though I use it to jot down my random thoughts that I wouldn't want anyone else to read in class, and also for decoration.

For fun, for a challenge and cyphers are really fun. Aside from just keeping my mind busy I like to write secret messages to friends (who have a copy of the code) and it helps me to relax before a big math test!

I invent conscripts for a novel I'm currently writing - though I must admit I've gone a bit wild. I invented a whole series of writing systems, more than I'll ever be able to use in the novel without driving my readers mad. So maybe I'm trying to find a good and objective reason to keep inventing them, while I actually just like the act of creation .

I really need to find out how you people find people other than yourself who are even remotely interested enough to bother deciphering secret messages. >_>

I tried, but people just thought I was crazy.
