Indi is a member of the Sambalic group of the Central Luzon branch of the Philippine language family. It is spoken by about 5,000 people in the Central Luzon region of the Phlippines, particularly in San Marcelino in the province of Zambales, and in Floridablanca and Porac in the province of Pampango. There are also speakers in Lumibao and Maague-ague.
Indi is also known as Mag-Indi, Ayta, Ayta Mag-Indi or Mag-Indi Sambal. It is considered an endangered language, as relatively few younger people are acquiring it at home, but efforts are being made to revitalize it. It is written with the Latin alphabet, is taught in some schools, and there is a translation of the New Testament of the Bible in Indi.

The Ayta Mag-Indi are one of several indigenous Ayta groups who live around the mountains of Porac and Floridablanca, Pampanga. The name of their language is Mag-Indi.
From the beginning, the Ayta Mag-Indi have believed there is a God whose name they call “Namalyari”. They also believe that all things here on earth are from Namalyari only. So when they harvest their fields, the Mag-Indi have a custom called “pamadêp” which they must do as their way of giving thanks and honor to Namalyari. The livelihood of the Mag-Indi consists of farming, hunting, fishing and caring for livestock.
