Phoenixian
The Phoenixian Script is a magical writing system that the Phoenix Herself breathed into existence through Dave Kos. The Phoenixian Script is imbued with divine power for manifestation and affirmation. The Phoenix represents rebirth, renewal, healing, rising again after setback. Therefore you can use this script to manifest abundance, success, purpose, healthy relationships, etc in the purpose of achieving a better life. The ideograms can also become powerful sigils.
In its native Phoenixian language, this script is called Fwenezhenya [fweneʒeɲa]. Fwene means flame, zhenya means supreme. Therefore: The Supreme Flame or La Flamme Suprême. This script is considered holy and powerful in Phoenixian culture.
Notable features
- Type of writing system: Abjad with ideograms
- Direction of writing: left to right in horizontal lines
- Used to write: Phoenixian, and can be adapted for English and other languages
- It is written using broad edge pen / flat nib / broad nib pen at approximately 45 degree angle.
- It is written in a number of different ways known as “modes”.
- The mode featured in this page is called: the phonetic-under-orthographic English mode or—in short— orthographic English mode 1.
- Vowels are indicated by dicritics which appear above or below the consonant which precedes them. When vowels stand on their own or come at the beginning of a word, the diacritics appear over a special vowel holder.
- It’s a rare writing system that combines both abjad and ideograms. It’s got not only symbols/letters representing sounds, but also symbols representing abstract concepts.
- The creator of Phoenixian Script is not interested in creating ideogram/logogram for every single thing in existence, such as: table, chair, paper, phone, pee, poop, door, sandal, etc, etc.
- Instead, Phoenixian ideograms represent concepts in manifestation and spirituality.
- A unique feature: Vowels are stackable up to 3 consecutive ones. For example ‘eau’ in the word ‘beauty’ or ‘iou’ in ‘precious’ can be written on top of or below a single consonant
- To reap its full benefits, you should write the symbol at the same time reciting in your heart the meaning it represents. This will turn calligraphy into meditation and manifestation.
- In the example image below—depicting calligraphy in a Zen room: ideograms can be written with red stamp positioned right under the ideogram. Then the ideogram looks like rising from that red stamp. Thus, many Phoenixian ideograms look like a phoenix rising from the ashes. That’s not a coincidence, it’s by design.

Consonants
Note: consonants are always written first, then the vowels are written.
Vowels and diphthongs
Vowels are stackable on top or below consonants. Maximum number of stackable vowels are up to 3 vowels. Here are 2 examples of 3-stacked vowels below: ‘beau’ as in ‘beauty’, and ‘ciou’ as in ‘precious’. Notice the order in which you write vowels: it radiates either upward or downward from the consonant.
Punctuation
Notes
- The double consonant marker is written before the consonant that’s being doubled. It is optional: you can also write the consonant twice, instead of using double consonant marker.
- Exclamation mark and question mark are written at the end of a sentence.
- Grand parentheses are used to emphasize an important sentence or phrase. It can also be used for titles or names of great people/thing.
- Manifestation mark shows that this sentence or paragraph is an affirmation or manifestation. It is written at the beginning of such sentence. It can be closed with an ‘end of passage’ mark. It is optional to write manifestation mark. With ideograms, you do not need to use manifestation mark. Just simply write the ideogram.
- Symbol mark turns a letter / letters into a symbol for something or someone. You put the letters between 2 symbol marks. For example: Alpha Omega (AΩ) symbolize Christ. They’re not just the first and last letter of the Greek alphabet.
