There is something that makes me think it is a North American indigenous language but also some sounds that make it seem to be from southeast Asia. Hmmmm. I going for the indigenous language thought.
American? Beyond that, no idea
I went through the “Language Families” here and got halfway through before I gave up. There are just SO MANY!
I forgot to add “Language Families” for North American indigenous languages. Even so there are,as I said SO MANY!
Here’s a clue – this is an Uto-Aztecan language.
I think it’s O’odham.
It IS O’odham. I found it on the O’odham page in the language profiles in a video clip that I bet David had already found as well. Good work David!
We all make an acceptable team Hank…
Besides everything else that Simon puts on here, I think these language quizzes are one of the best parts of the entire web page. SO much fun!
It is indeed Tohono O’odham (Oʼodham ha-ñeʼokĭ), an Uto-Aztecan language spoken in Arizona in the south of the USA, and in Sonara in northern Mexico.
