Language quiz 17 May 2015 By Simon Here’s a recording in a mystery language. Can you identify the language, and do you know where it’s spoken?
It sounds quite close to Standard High German to me – I’m guessing it would be largely comprehensible to a native German speaker (I can understand some of it). I’m going to guess Schwäbisch (Swabian). Reply

This sounds to be a dialect from south west Germany or Switzerland.

This is Bavarian language (bairisch).
He is talking in a mixture of Standard German and Bavarian.
Bayerisch is my guess. I could understand it all.
