I think it is a French -based Créole, perhaps from Réunion?
I agree as to a French based creole, but he’s speaking too quickly for me to pick up other clues.
As far as a French creole is concerned I can (possibly) discern only ‘bateau’ at 00:12. I would expect to understand a bit more than just one word in a recording of any variety of French creole, though.
I thought I heard eight or nine French -derived words
The mystery language is Sar(a) (Madjingay), a Central Sudanic language spoken in southern Chad.
If it’s spokem in Chad, that explains the French loanwords.
