Here’s a clue – this language is spoken in southern Nigeria.
If it is indeed Bantoid, it could be one of the languages spoken in Nigeria’s Cross River states, such as Nde, Ndoe or Mbe; if not, I dare not guess …
I was going to try to do a search once Simon sent the languages from Nigeria but what with Christmas and my being so busy I didn’t have time to search. However, I bet Emanuel is right.

I just guessed and was wrong because the Edoid languages are apparently outside the Bantoid branch of the larger Atlantic-Congo family.
