Persian, Dari, Tajik, or something very close. I think I hear a tinge of Arabic, though, and not only in the vocabulary.
I would agree with Aharoni. I think I hear a very Tajik/Persian sound.
It certainly sounds very much like an Iranian language. The content seems to be of a religious nature but not Quranic or Islamic. I rather think we are listening to a passage from the New Testament, possibly one of the parables, because it starts with ‘Hazrat Isa’ (Lord Jesus).
The language is Bakhtiari Luri and is the Parable of the Prodigal Son. Emanuel, you were right.
I was actually thinking of the ‘Prodigal Son’ because it is a common parable on YouTube but was not able to discern the words for ‘man’ and ‘son(s)’ and therefore was not too sure about that.
The language is indeed Bakhtiari Luri (بختیاری), a Western Iranian language spoken mainly in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province in southwestern Iran.
