Language Quiz 9 June 2019 By Simon Here’s a recording in a mystery language. Can you identify the language, and do you know where it’s spoken?
Could it be a minor language spoken in Argentina? The word “sabés” about two-thirds of the way through is typically Argentinian. The frequent instances of “chi” near the beginning could be a Mapudungún rendering of “che” (itself a Mapudungún word). Reply
The answer is Udi (удин муз / udin muz), a Northeast Caucasian language spoken in parts of Azerbaijan, Russia, Georgia and Armenia. The recording comes from YouTube: Reply
No idea whatsoever but for some reason I think it is spoken in the Amazon region.
I was thinking more northern India or Nepal.
