  1. This sounds very Tibeto-Burman. Most likely one of the many mutually unintelligible Chin/Zomi dialects.

  2. I tend to think along the same lines as Elendil. It definitely sounds like a Sino-Tibetan language, just one that has more archaic features than the eastern (Sinitic) languages. So since we have a new “Writing” entry for Mizo this week and the sample text seems not too far from the sound of this recording, I’m going to hazard a guess that this is what the language is. (Mizo.)

  3. The answer is Mizo (Mizo ṭawng), a Tibeto-Burman spoken mainly in India, and also in Burma and Bangladesh. Well guessed Chris!
