Most online language tests I’ve come across seem to use be of the ‘fill in the blanks’ variety. Today I found an online Chinese test with some interesting variations on the theme.
It’s divided into three sections, the first of which asks to choose where to place words, which you are given, in sentences. The second section has standard fill in the blanks questions, and the third section tests your knowledge of Chinese culture. I took the test earlier today and got 25 points. Unfortunately it doesn’t show which answer were wrong.
Do you know of any other online language tests which don’t involve just filling in the blanks?
It doesn’t show which ones were wrong, but it DOES give the answers! Surprisingly, I’m only in my second year of Mandarin and I got a 21/30 on it. I guessed on quite a few though, so maybe there were some lucky guesses.
I knew once of a proficiency test online that tested in all sorts of languages…German, French, Spanish, Italian, Chinese, Russian, Japanese, Dutch…I don’t remember them all. Unfortunately, I’ve lost the link 🙁
Said test gives the answer key after you actually complete the entire thing. It’s at the bottom in blue lettering. Hope this helps!
I got 11/30 after having learned Mandarin for only two and half months in school. I felt like I was guessing on almost all of them.
There are the online language proficiency tests from Transparent Language that you posted on Ocober 30 last year which are multiple choice / fill in the blank and have quite a few languages: Chinese (Romanized), Dutch, English, English (for Spanish Speakers), French, German, Irish, Italian, Japanese (Romanized), Latin, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, and Swedish.
I got 22/30. Intermediate level. I’m not aware of any other language tests online.
That test I took has some tones that are wrong. They should just use the han zi.
