To my ears, it sounds like a non-Bantoid language of Central or Western Africa, which is spoken where French is the official language – in Côte d’Ivoire, Togo, Bénin?
Something in the Niger-Congo family?

It is a Niger-Congo language and is spoken in West Africa.
A language spoken in Mali. If not, the creole spoken in Cape Verde? My knowledge of these tongues derives from their wonderful music.
My first impression is a Mande language, similar to Bambara, but there is the bothersome [θ] in there: I can’t figure out what African language might contain that particular sound.
The answer is Maninka (Malinke / Maninkakan), a Mande language spoken in Guinea, Mali, Liberia, Senegal, Sierra Leone and Ivory Coast.
