A Finn-Ugric tongue with strong Russian influence. It is likely Karelian.

I’m pretty sure it’s Karelian: it sounds like Finnish but it’s not, and I heard the words “Karjala”.

The answer is Karelian (Karjalan kieli), a Finno-Ugric language spoken mainly in the Russian Republic of Karelia, and also in Finland.
