Language quiz 11 November 2012 By Simon Here’s a recording in a mystery language. Can you identify the language, and do you know where it’s spoken?
Not so mysterious this language any more, since we had it once before. (I remember the woman’s voice in the sound clip or the video on YouTube the other clip was linked to.) Reply
The answer is Tlingit (LingĂt), a Na-Dene language spoken in parts of Alaska in the USA, and British Colombia and the Yukon Territory in Canada. The recording comes from YouTube. Daydreamer – I’d forgotten that I’d used this clip before and it was quite a while ago. Reply
Could it be Aleut, spoken in Alaska and Kamchatka?
Right area, more or less, wrong language.

Sounds like a Na-dene language to me.
