Definitely a Tibeto-Burman language and one that is closely related to Tibetan but maybe not mutually intelligible with it.
Something like Ladakhi, Sikkimese or Sherpa, I’d say. But I recall we had Sherpa on the quiz before, so I don’t think Simon would put up another Sherpa sound file.

Even with the background music giving a strong geographical hint I have no guess.
My best guess is Uyghur.
The answer is Loke/Lowa (གློ་སྐད་), a Central Tibetan language spoken in the Mustang district (སྨོ་ཐང་) in central Nepal.
