  1. Elendil says:

This is Jingphaw (Kachin), a Tibeto-Burman language spoken in far northern Burma and neighbouring parts of Yunnan province in China. This recording is definitely in one of the dialects spoken in Burma because I recognised the Burmese loan ‘taraa ubaday’, which means ‘law’.

  2. Roger says:

Wild guess somewhere in Indo China. Cambodia ?

  3. Petréa Mitchell says:

I’m not prepared to name a specific language like Elendil, but I’m also thinking Tibeto-Burman.

  4. Simon says:

Elendil is right – the answer is Jingpho/Kachin, a Tibeto-Burman language spoken mainly in Kachin State in Burma and in Yunnan Province in China.

The recording comes from Kachin News.
