Name the language

Here’s a recording of a mystery language sent in by AR. Do you know or can you guess which language it is and where it’s spoken?

Clue: this is an Indo-Ayran language.

Up to now, the closest I can get is that it seems to be an Iranian language. Maybe Tajik?

Aeetlrcreejl is the closest so far. It isn’t Bangla (Bengali), but is related to that language.

The answer is Sylheti (Siloti) which is spoken in Sylhet, Bangladesh and neighboring parts of India. It used to be written with the Siloti Nagri script, although now it is written with the Bengali script.
