Interesting story behind the Tagalog Stylized font of the Tagalog Baybayin script manigong bagong taon in the third line from the bottom. It was created by Paul
Morrow of Winnipeg in 1992 as a “modern looking” font that complements the Tagalog Doctrina 1593 and Baybayin Lopez fonts and others that he made to reproduce typefaces in early Philippine manuscripts. All three are widely used freeware fonts and almost “standard”.

A couple of weeks ago, the Central Bank of the Philippines presented its first new banknote designs in 15 years and Paul had the enormous surprise and thrill to find out from friends that one of the new security features was the word Pilipino in his Tagalog Stylized font, split horizontally between the face and the back so it is readable when held up to the light! This was the first he had heard of this since nobody from the Bank or its design team had contacted him.

So not only is his web site the most informative single source for information on the script, but his work is quietly preserved for posterity as something that will be handled on a daily basis by millions of Filipinos.

As far as I’m aware Hungarian seems to be the only language which has a nifty acronym for their formulaic Christmas and New Year greetings and well-wishing: ‘BÚÉK!’ which stands for ‘Boldog Új Évet Kívánok’ – ‘I wish you Happy New Year’.
The closest English equivalent would be the abbreviated, shorthand form for ‘Christmas’ Xmas. Maybe there are other languages which have similar acronyms, initialisms?
    Minden jók kívánok!

Urte berri on – Basque (Baskictina).
Athbhliain faoi mhaise daoith – Irish Gaelic (irská gaelstina), uncial script (unciála).
Selamat tahun baru – Malay (Malajstina).
At the bottom, below the Malay is the Lord of the Rings constructed language Sindarin (I think?).
