(loosely) any simplified or broken form of a language, especially when used for communication between speakers of different languages.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The definition of pidgin in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.merriam-webster.com\/dictionary\/pidgin\">Merriam-Webster dictionary<\/a> is even simpler:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>a simplified speech used for communication between people with different languages<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>In the 19th century a form of pidgin, known as Chinese Pidgin English, developed between European and Chinese merchants in China. Pidgin was the way the Chinese pronounced business, and referred to this form of language. Later it was used to refer to all such contact languages. It was first used in writing in 1807 [<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Pidgin\">source<\/a>].<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dictionary.com\/browse\/creole\">Dictionary.com<\/a> defines a <strong>creole language<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>a creolized language; a pidgin that has become the native language of a speech community<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.merriam-webster.com\/dictionary\/creole\">Merriam-Webster dictionary<\/a> defines a <strong>creole language<\/strong> as:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>a language that has evolved from a pidgin but serves as the native language of a speech community<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The word creole was first used in the 17th century, and comes from the Portuguese <em>crioulo<\/em> (a slave born in one&#8217;s household, person of European ancestry born in the colonies), probably from <em>criar<\/em> (to bring up), from the Latin <em>cre\u0101re<\/em> (to create) [<a href=\"https:\/\/www.collinsdictionary.com\/dictionary\/english\/creole\">source<\/a>].<\/p>\n<h3>Examples of Creoles being spoken<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/-NrSATT7Y7M\">Bislama<\/a><br \/>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/-NrSATT7Y7M\" allow=\"accelerometer;
