It comes from <em>traht(n)ian<\/em> (to treat, comment on, expound, consider), from Proto-West-Germanic <em>*traht\u014dn<\/em> (to consider, think of, strive for, seek, discuss), from Latin <em>tract\u014d<\/em> (to tug, drag, handle, discuss) [<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wiktionary.org\/wiki\/traht#Old_English\">source<\/a>].
