More on that later.<\/p>\n<p>There are new language pages about:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.omniglot.com\/writing\/romaniantatar.htm\">Romanian Tatar<\/a> (Tatar\u0219a), a variety of Crimean Tatar spoken mainly in the Dobrogea region in eastern Romania.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.omniglot.com\/writing\/namakura.htm\">Namakura<\/a>  (Namakir) a Southern Oceanic language spoken in the Shepherd Islands in Shefa Province of Vanuatu.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.omniglot.com\/writing\/tirax.htm\">Tirax<\/a> (Resan Tirax), a Southern Oceanic language spoken in the north east of Malakula Island in Vanuatu.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.omniglot.com\/writing\/lewo.htm\">Lewo<\/a>, a Southern Oceanic language spoken on Epi Island in Shefa Province of Vanuatu.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.omniglot.com\/writing\/tarama.htm\">Tarama<\/a> (\u305f\u3089\u307e\u3075\u3068\u3045), a Southern Ryukyuan language spoken on Tarama and Minna, two of Miyako islands in Okinawa Prefecture in southern Japan<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There are new numbers pages in: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.omniglot.com\/language\/numbers\/romaniantatar.htm\">Romanian Tatar<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.omniglot.com\/language\/numbers\/namakura.htm\">Namakura<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.omniglot.com\/language\/numbers\/tirax.htm\">Tirax<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.omniglot.com\/language\/numbers\/kaska.htm\">Kaska<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.omniglot.com\/language\/numbers\/lewo.htm\">Lewo<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s a new page about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.omniglot.com\/language\/dates\/japanese.htm\">How to write dates in Japanese<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>On the Omniglot blog there are new posts about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.omniglot.com\/bloggle\/?p=22839\">The Language Event<\/a> I went to in Edinburgh, and about words for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.omniglot.com\/bloggle\/?p=22846\">Cupboards, Cabinets and Closets<\/a>, and the usual <a href=\"https:\/\/www.omniglot.com\/bloggle\/?p=22857\">Language Quiz<\/a>. I also made improvements to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.omniglot.com\/language\/celtic\/connections\/index.php\">Celtic cognates index page<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In other news, last weekend I had a good time at The Language Event in Edinburgh. There were some interesting talks about all sorts of language-related topics, I met old friends and made some new ones, and got to speak a variety of languages, including Welsh, Scottish Gaelic, Danish, Japanese, German and Spanish.<\/p>\n<p><a data-flickr-embed=\"true\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/omniglot\/52839937552\/in\/album-72157713356729716\/\" title=\"The Language Event, Edinburgh\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/52839937552_b757dcae2f.jpg\" alt=\"The Language Event, Edinburgh\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\"><\/a><script async=\"\" src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>A reporter from BBC Alba (the Scottish Gaelic TV channel) was at the Event and filmed parts of it, including a short interview with me in Scottish Gaelic:<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Vme4Lm7mfgQ\" title=\"YouTube video player\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen=\"\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>I forgot to mention in the recording, but I wrote a new song in Scottish Gaelic called <a href=\"https:\/\/www.omniglot.com\/songs\/sager\/thoiranaire.htm\">Thoir An Aire! (Watch Out!)<\/a>, which was inpsired by my Gaelic lessons on Duolingo, and visits to Scotland.
