However, it wasn\u2019t pronounced by many people until the 19th century, and still isn\u2019t by many speakers, especially in North America.<\/p>\n<p>Words from the same roots include <strong>grow<\/strong>, <strong>green<\/strong>, <strong>graze<\/strong>, <strong>gray\/grey<\/strong> in English, <strong>herbe<\/strong> (grass) in French, <strong>erba<\/strong> (grass, herb) in Italian, and <strong>hierba<\/strong> (herb, grass) in Spanish [<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wiktionary.org\/wiki\/herba#Latin\">source<\/a>].<\/p>\n<p>Incidentally, this is the 100th episode of this series, which started in March 2021.
