[<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wiktionary.org\/wiki\/quibble\">source<\/a>].<\/p>\n<p><em>Quibus<\/em> comes from <em>qu\u012b\/quis<\/em> (who, that, which, any), from Proto-Italic <em>*k\u02b7oi<\/em> (who, what), from Proto-Indo-European <em>*k\u02b7\u00f3s\/*k\u02b7\u00eds<\/em> (who, what, which, that) [<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wiktionary.org\/wiki\/quibus#Latin\">source<\/a>].<\/p>\n<p>Words from the same roots include <strong>what<\/strong>, <strong>who<\/strong>, <strong>why<\/strong>, <strong>when<\/strong>, <strong>which<\/strong>, <strong>how<\/strong> in English, and similar question words in other Indo-European languages [<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wiktionary.org\/wiki\/Reconstruction:Proto-Indo-European\/k%CA%B7%C3%ADs#Determiner\">source<\/a>].<\/p>\n<p>Incidentally, the word <strong>quip<\/strong> (a smart, sarcastic turn or jest;
