It\u2019s written with the Devanagari alphabet.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.omniglot.com\/writing\/mandeali.htm\">Mandeali<\/a> (\u092e\u0902\u0921\u092f\u093e\u0932\u093c\u0940) is a Western Pahari language spoken mainly in the Mandi district of Himachal Prasdesh in northern India by about 623,000 people. It is written with the Devanagari alphabet, and used to be written with the Takri alphabet.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.omniglot.com\/writing\/shompen.htm\">Shompen<\/a> is a Nicobarese language spoken on Great Nicobar Island, part of the Indian union territory of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The number of speakers is not known, and it\u2019s rarely written, except by researchers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There are new numbers pages in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.omniglot.com\/language\/numbers\/protoslavic.htm\">Proto-Slavic<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.omniglot.com\/language\/numbers\/ocs.htm\">Old Church Slavonic<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>There are new translations of stories in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.omniglot.com\/stories\/fablesaboutanimals_lp.htm\">Lingua de planeta<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.omniglot.com\/language\/numbers\/ocs.htm\">Algilez<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>There are Omniglot blog posts about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.omniglot.com\/bloggle\/?p=21142\">knickknacks<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.omniglot.com\/bloggle\/?p=21153\">bonnets<\/a>, and the usual <a href=\"https:\/\/www.omniglot.com\/bloggle\/?p=21165\">language quiz<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This week\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.omniglot.com\/celtiadur\/2021\/07\/08\/river-mouths\/\">Celtiadur post<\/a> is about words in Celtic languages for river mouths, estuaries and related things.<\/p>\n<p>I also added new translations of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.omniglot.com\/babel\/russian.htm\">Tower of Babel in Russian<\/a>, and made improvements to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.omniglot.com\/writing\/mundari.htm\">Mundari<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.omniglot.com\/writing\/fur.htm\">Fur<\/a> language pages.<\/p>\n<p>This week, for a change, I published an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.omniglot.com\/radio\/?p=1231\">Adventure in Etymology (about balance)<\/a> on Saturday rather than Sunday. Normally I work on Omniglot 7 days a week, but have decided to do other things on Sundays.
