I hadn&#8217;t noticed the similarity between the two phrases before, and if I had, I would have assumed that it was a coincidence.<\/p>\n<p>Another possible origin for this word is the Austria greeting\/parting word <em>servus<\/em>, which is written <em>szervusz<\/em> in Hungarian, and which somehow became <em>szia<\/em>.
