For example:<br \/>\n&#8211; <em>bha e <strong>math math<\/strong> air faclan a chur ri ch\u00e8ile ann am b\u00e0rdachd<\/em> (he was very good at putting words togther in poetry). <\/p>\n<p>Emphasis can also be indicated with <em>gl\u00e9<\/em> (very) &#8211; <em>bha e gl\u00e9 mhath<\/em> &#8211; with <em>uabhasach<\/em> (terribly) &#8211; <em>bha e uabhasach math<\/em> &#8211; or with <em>fiadhaich<\/em> (wild) &#8211; <em>bha e fiadhaich math<\/em>. Another example, which is mentioned in <em>Leabher nan Litrichean<\/em> by Ruairidh MacIlleathain, concerns an overheard conversation between two boys. One says &#8220;An robh an t-isag m\u00f2r?&#8221; (Was the fish big?), and the other replies, &#8220;Bha! Bha e m\u00f2r m\u00f2r m\u00f2r m\u00f2r m\u00f2r!&#8221;. (Yes! It was very very very very big!).<\/p>\n<p>This doubling isn&#8217;t very common in English, though some people might use it. Alternatively you can elongate the adjective, it was biiiiig!.
