I found quite a few possible translations, each of which has slightly different meanings:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>vaurien = good-for-nothing, scoundrel; (to child) petit vaurien ! = you little devil!<\/li>\n<li>fripon = [n] rogue; [adj] mischievous, roguish; (to child) petit fripon ! = you little scamp\/rogue!<\/li>\n<li>polisson = [adj] mischievous, cheeky; saucy, naughty &#8211; une chanson polissonne = a racy saucy song; [n] little devil \/ rogue \/ scamp<\/li>\n<li>gredin = rascal, rogue<\/li>\n<li>maraud = rascal, rapscallion<\/li>\n<li>chenapan =  rascal, rogue, scoundrel (humourous)<\/li>\n<li>b\u00e9l\u00eetre = rascal; dandy<\/li>\n<li>canaille = [adj] roguish; coarse, vulgar; [n] scoundrel, crook &#8211; petite canaille ! = you little devil \/ rascal!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Sources: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.larousse.fr\/dictionnaires\/\">Larousse<\/a> &#038; <a href=\"http:\/\/dictionary.reverso.net\/english-french\/rascal\">Reverso<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The English word rascal, which I particularly like the sound of, comes from the Anglo-Norman word <em>rascaile<\/em>, from the Middle French <em>rascaille<\/em> (rabble, common people), possibly from the unattested verb <em>*rasquer<\/em> (to scrape). <\/p>\n<p>Children are often the ones called rascals or little rascals in English.
